I’m totally inlove with the pencil eyeliners too – they have an inbuilt sharpener in the lid, so you can take it with you and make sure those eyes are point all the time.

I’m just Matte About Shimmer Baby

I’m using everything from the kit here. The primer, the eyeshadow duo and the eyeliner pencil. I’m also wearing “Sweet Plum” and “Bare Kiss” Lip Balm from the “Lip Parade Kit” as a base, with a clear shimmery gloss over the top to make my lips sparkle. I really love how my eyes just pop with the eyeshadows used. They’re a gorgeous shimmery colour, and compliment each other well. The eyeliner really opens up the eye area too – my eyes seem to sparkle as much as my lips do here!

We’re not done with the eyes yet! This next set with help you out with applying your shadows and eyeliners – Defined Eyes Kit:

Defined Eyes Kit – $10AU

Included is 1 smudge brush (perfect for blending in eyeliner and eyeshadow to create a smoky eye or to fill in brows), 1 Angled Eyeliner Brush (just the thing to create natural looking defined brows) and 1 Small Angled Brush (the angled tip provides exact placement for concentrated eyeliner colour right up to the lash line).

And finally we come to the lips! The Lip Parade Kit:

Lip Parade Kit – $10AU

The Lip Parade Kit consists of three tinted lip balms – Berry Sweet, XO Red and Bare Kiss. These go on fairly bright, but personally, I prefer to use them as a base, toning down the colour and adding a gloss over the top for a hint of shine. Note that these aren’t lipsticks, and you will need to touch up throughout the day, but using them as a base meant I didn’t need to keep reapplying (and using a primer or lip scrub beforehand will help to keep the colour on longer throughout the day).

Overall my opinion on trying these products is fairly positive. I really like the eyeshadows – the colour holds throughout the day and touch ups are a breeze come night time. I have received numerous compliments whenever I’ve worn products from the cosmetic range. If you’re looking for beauty on a budget (that’s also cruelty-free), you’ll definitely want to check out e.l/f. cosmetics.

I’ve since added more to my collection from the e.l.f. range thanks to the above products and my overall experience using them, and I’ll no doubt be adding more in the future as well (I’m currently after a new foundation, so I’ll be checking out what they have in the range for my skin tone).

You can pick up e.l.f. cosmetics in KMart or shop online directly here.

(Whilst the cosmetics are cruelty-free and vegan friendly, please note there are a number of brushes in the Essentials range that are made from cut natural horse hair, all have genuine wooden handles – e.l.f. do not test on animals).
