Qi Tea Australia – Product Review

Arrival of products

Outback Revue were recently sent several boxes of Qi Tea Australia‘s organic, natural green and white tea’s to trial and review.

As a tea lover myself (and particularly fond of herbal tea blends as well as drinking green tea daily) I was more than excited to try out these products for myself.

Qi Teas (pronounced Chee) are naturally sweet and mellow in flavour because the leaf is grown at high altitude and is processed within a few hours of picking.  This quick processing inhibits deterioration of the leaf and any bitterness developing.  This knowledge about tea has been collected over centuries and reflects the local appreciation and reverence for tea.

Qi Teas are an uplifting range of premium green and white teas containing organic herbs, fruits & spices – for a unique and delicious cup of tea.

The range of Qi Teas classic  and new blends contain many certified organic ingredients ranging from the highly functional – ginseng, ginkgo, dandelion root and milk thistle – to a mix of indulgent fruit and spices.

Make sure to read all the way down to the bottom for your chance to try some sample teas for yourself – I’d love to hear your thought’s in the comments section too!

Qi Organic Green Tea Detox Blend

detox

Cleansing dandelion with the taste of ginger & citrus – this blend contains dandelion root and milk thistle which have been used for centuries to aid the body’s natural cleansing processes. They’ve also added the fresh taste of orange, lemon and hints of ginger and mint – so you feel like you’re indulging, not detoxing!

This blend is Qi Tea’s popular classic, award winning tea.

Verdict: This was a nice tea, I felt it suited the morning routine, starting the day off with a mug of this prior to breakfast. The ginger & citrus was more of a “hint” of flavour, although it was still a tasty blend. It was my “wake up feeling fresh” tea blend of choice.  Although it was my least favourite of the three, I believe that’s because I like my tea’s full of flavour, and this one was a tad too subtle in that area for me.  There’s absolutely nothing wrong with that though, some people like a weaker flavoured tea, and I believe they’d really enjoy this blend.

Qi Organic Green Tea Wellness Blend

wellness

Qi Wellness Tea is a refreshing berry fusion, formulated to give you an uplifting boost to your day.  It combines blueberry, pomegranate and hawthorn fruit for a range of antioxidants.  You’ll find this tea particularly smooth and pleasant to drink – a “superfruits” blend to delight.

Verdict: This was a clear winner for me, my favourite out of the three blends I trialled over the past week.  I found myself often coming back for more of this throughout the day.  It has a refreshing taste to it, and unlike the Detox, I could taste the fruits in this more (I like my blends full of flavour, and strong).

Qi Organic White Tea Relax Blend

relax geek

Qi Relax Tea is a delicious blend of soul warming spices with a twist of orange.  Cinnamon, cloves and ginger combine to help you relax, enjoy and release the stresses of the day.

Qi Relax Tea is in a white tea base so there is no need to add milk or sugar.  White tea is the baby buds and new shoots of the plant (Camellia sinensis) and is mellow and naturally sweet in flavour.

Verdict: This blend was another favourite for me.  I love my Chai Lattes (in fact, anything “Chai” flavoured – I’m a lover of spices after all)… I found this a very nice blend to have at the end of the day as you’re starting to wind down, it was especially good to drink whilst reading (as you can see, I made a whole pot of it when I started reading at night).

The Qi Tea Australia range offers a lot more variety than the blends shown here and are perfect for the health conscious consumer who is wanting something natural and organic.  This is a great product for various diets as well like Vegan, Gluten Free and Dairy Free.  You don’t even have to be in either of those categories to enjoy these herbal blends (and you’ll certainly feel like you’re indulging whilst drinking these blends).

You can find out more about Qi Tea Australia and their stockists here.   You can purchase their blends online via their site or in Coles Supermarkets as well.

      Hi Caitlin,

Sorry for the delay in replying. You can find out more about the Qi Tea brand here They’re part of the Universal Village Fair Trade group, so whilst the ingredients aren’t grown in Australia, they’re ethically produced and harvested. You can find out more about the village where they gather the ingredients from here I hope that helps?

I’m a “Wellness” fan & would love to try “Relax”. Not enough of my family & friends are aware of the QI Organic Tea brand & that it is certified etc. Would love to pop some samples into Christmas presents to create an awareness.
Also, the major Supermarkets don’t seem to have stock of “Wellness” so I’m having to research where to buy it from.

    Thank you for your reviews.

      Hi Andi,

I LOVE their range of teas and it has grown since this review!

As far as I’m aware you can still purchase their teas through Coles, Foodworks and IGA, but for the full range I highly recommend shopping via their website – you’ll find Relax and Wellness on there too.

It’d be worth it signing up for their newsletter too, their followers have been among the first to be able to try out new blends and we’ve even had a hand in helping to name a few too!

You can shop the full range here: https://qitea.com.au/qi-tea-products/

Love your idea of spreading the word about their teas via Christmas pressies too (only 82 more days to go so now’s a great time to start planning!!)

      Cheers,

where can I buy the green tea detox as Coles and Woolworths no longer stock it

      Hi Julie,

It appears that they now stock via selected independent grocery and specialty stores – they do also stock their tea in IGA and FoodWorks Supermarkets (you can also purchase on their website, though I’ve just noticed they’re currently out of stock on the website, but restocking detox soon).

I will update this review shortly to reflect the current changes, so that others are aware of current stockists. If you have a local IGA/FoodWorks near you that isn’t currently stocking this, I’m sure they’d be more than happy to assist as most are pretty good with ordering in specific customer requests.

Hope that helps you out? The Detox is a great tea – I’m quite enjoying the Digestif Tea of late (which wasn’t available/released when I wrote this review up).

      Cheers,

Why has Woolworths supermarket stopped selling QI Organic green tea Detox I can’t find it anywhere

      Hi Helen,

I understand your frustration, unfortunately both Coles and Woolworths no longer sell their products – I do not know the reasoning behind this. However if you have a local Foodworks or IGA you could try there, and from what I understand, both stores are willing to order in products that their customers want as well. Otherwise, you can order directly from their website – I’m sharing the stockist page for you below (hope that helps, sorry I can’t give you any more information as to why the major supermarkets are no longer supplying their products).
