Bella Box – July 2019

Another month, another Bella Box! The theme for July is “Beauty Snap”. Each product is chosen specially for an indoor pamper session at home, covering all your winter essentials (and let’s face it ladies… winter is DEFINITELY a time when our skin needs a little more tender loving care!)

My skin (normally considered combination/oily) has never been so dry, and my hair has certainly been affected by the season as well!

Depending on your personal profile on the Bella Box website, some of the items change from box to box (in order to be more tailor made for your own experience).

Below is a photo of what I received in the July box:

#BeautySnap

I was so excited to receive this month’s box, there’s a lot of products in this box that I can see myself using (and buying again).

Close up of the beauty products

It didn’t take me long to start using the products… it seems to be a ritual for me… using some of the products the same day I receive the box (I’m sure I’m not alone there).

Subi Beauty Perfect Pimple Patch and Revlon be Fabulous Hair Recovery

Subi Perfect Pimple Patch
(Full size sample – comes in a pack of 3 x full size 18 patch packs – RRP $39.95 available at subibeauty.com)

The Subi Beauty Perfect Pimple Patch is drug free, vegan, cruelty free, paraben free, sulfate free, alcohol free, silicone free, allergen free, fungal acne (malassezia) safe and made with minimal ingredients.

One sheet has 18 circle patches on it, you can wear them overnight – or during the day as they’re almost invisible/hard to see.

I haven’t actually used this product as yet. Whilst I have oily/combination skin, my skin is prone to blackheads rather than pimples… although knowing my luck, come #datenight one or two will likely show up, so I’ll definitely add this to my emergency beauty kit.

Revlon be Fabulous Damaged Hair C.R.E.A.M Keratin Shampoo
(This was a bonus sample, so no price/details listed, I found it listed as $22.99 for 250ml on ozhairandbeauty.com)

I used this shampoo (followed by Coco & Eve’s hair masque), the same night I received the box. Due to how much of a lather you get from a small amount of this shampoo, I’ll easily get 4-5 uses (maybe more) from this sample. My hair felt great, loved the way it felt rinsing it under the shower too – my hair felt thicker and smoother straight away.

Coco & Eve Hair Masque

Coco & Eve Like a Virgin Super Nourishing Coconut & Fig Hair Masque
(Sample size 15ml – RRP $64.90 for 212ml available at cocoandeve.com)

This is pretty much a stand out product for me in this month’s box. Aside from being in a dire need of a haircut, my hair has certainly felt the effects of the colder weather. I can definitely see myself buying this again (after just one use, I could see fantastic results – my hair never looked or felt so healthy!)

The masque is a 5 in 1 treatment:
*It restores dry, damaged hair
*Improves hair texture and shine
*Hydrates and deeply conditions
*Treats split ends and tames frizz
*Transforms your hair in only 10 mins

It’s sulphate free, phthalate free, paraben free, colour safe, 100% vegan, gluten free, cruelty free and Peta approved. If you’re looking for an eco-friendly hair masque, this is one that’s worth checking out…

My hair after just one use of Coco & Eve Hair Masque – it’s never looked or felt so good – definitely a new fave product!

I couldn’t recommend Coco & Eve more… I have tried a lot of different hair masks in the past, but none have given me such great results – especially after just one use! I like that it helps keep the frizz in control for me, and that it hydrates my hair so well. I’ll be looking forward to my ‘pamper sessions’ even more now… I have kind of let my #selflove sessions go lately, but this will be making me bring them back – even if it’s just a hair care session!

Liar Wrinkle Cheater Eye Serum

Liar Wrinkle Cheater Eye Serum
(Full size – 12ml RRP $39.95 available at liarwrinklecheater.com and nourishedlife.com.au)

At the young age of 43… I’ve suddenly come to the realisation that I have wrinkles (shock! horror! *runs and hides from everyone*)… actually, it wasn’t until I saw a couple of photos of myself recently, that pretty blatantly showed off my crows feet, that I realised I really need to start looking at different skincare products… that I probably should have done that a while ago.

I’m pretty blase with my skincare regimen, but I’m starting to appreciate it more and anything that can turn back time has my interest! I’ve not come across Liar Wrinkle Cheater before, it claims to be like botox – only a natural version of it – so I’m keen to see how it works.

I’m someone who loves the ‘age with grace’ approach… although admittedly, seeing those photos kind of made me rethink that approach, although botox injections are definitely not my kind of style. A natural ‘botox’ sounds enticing though.

The Liar Wrinkle Cheater is a potent eye serum roller, it can also be used on wrinkles around the mouth area too. It’s relatively easy to use, and is recommended to use twice a day, over 3 weeks to see results (I will come back to this review and update with a BEFORE and AFTER photo for you, and my findings/results). It feels nice enough, not greasy at all, and no unpleasant smells – it has a very subtle scent.

The main ingredients are Hyaluronic Acid, Peptides (Hyoxinal) and Copper. You can learn more about the ingredients here and how they work together. This is a 100% natural product, made here in Australia.

Luna by Luna Eye Shadow – shade in Juliet

Luna By Luna Eye Shadow
(Full size, 1.5g RRP USD$15.00, available at lunabyluna.com)

Luna by Luna was this month’s opt-in product – everyone received this in their box, where you got to select the shade of your choice from Juliet, Selene, Spiced Pumpkin or Miracle.

Being the tragic romantic I am, I opted for Juliet (as in Romeo and Juliet), and I’m happy with my selection! It’s a shade that I would add to my makeup collection, fitting in with many of the shades I use now.

This eye shadow is silky smooth. You can wear it light, or build onto it for a more intense look. It’s gluten and cruelty free. It’s highly pigmented and suits any skin tone.

MODELco Highlighting Shimmer Whip

MODELco Highlighting Shimmer Whip
(Full sample size 7ml , 7ml RRP $12.00, available at modelco.com)

This liquid luminiser glides onto your skin effortlessly to give you that subtle strobing effect that leaves your skin looking radiant. You could also use it with a smokey eyes look, using it on the inner eye area and brow bone.

*It highlights and defines bone structure
*Instantly enhances and illuminates your skin
*Brightens complexion whilst minimising imperfections
*The glistening champagne hue is suitable for all skin tones

For an all over glow, simply mix into your foundation; for highlights add to the top of your cheekbones, down the center of your nose, on your brow bone, chin and decolletage.

I’ll be breaking this bad boy out for date night’s when I want to ‘shine’ (in the right way… I have blotch papers for the *other* kind of shine which I definitely DON’T want!)

It feels so nice on the skin, it’s light and creamy, I don’t even notice it on like some other products.

Hello FRESH

Hello FRESH – another free bonus in the July Bella Box

Personally, this is a product that I won’t use. I like planning my own meals, just as much as I like buying my own fresh produce (I’m a foodie at heart – I probably enjoy shopping for groceries more than any other kind of shopping!) I can see how others may find a service like this convenient for them though.

Final Verdict

This month’s box is full of products that I’ll use over and over again, the stand out product remains the Coco & Eve Coconut & Fig Hair Masque (I’ll be buying more once the tube I have here runs out!)

This months box is a mix of pamper products and what I consider #datenight products – it’s well worth the $19.95 (incl P&H) you pay for the subscription.

This month, I’ve been introduced products I’ve never tried, many of which I found I really liked and can see myself buying several in the future.

I started out with a 3-month exclusive deal through Groupon, which was more of a teaser of what the boxes were like, before signing up to a monthly subscription – I’m so glad I signed up.

I’ve been introduced to so many products that I was curious about, but had yet to try out; I came across some faves that I already purchase; and like this month’s box – I’ve come across products I wasn’t even aware existed.

This box is a great way to try out a range of products (with at least 1 or 2 customised to your own personal profile on their website), you’ll get to try a mixture of high end, on trend or cult beauty products and may even discover your own next ‘fave’ product among them!

If you’re curious and yet to try out Bella Box for yourself, you can get $5 OFF your first box, subscribing to Bella Box here (I receive no commission for you subscribing).

Already receiving Bella Box? I’d love to hear what your fave products from this month’s box are in the comments below!
