Charles Viancin – Clever Kitchenware Inspired by Nature

Charles Viancin

We’ve entered into the period of “Plastic Free July” where people are encouraged to cut down on their single-use plastic waste, and today I have the perfect item to introduce to you, to help you reduce your plastic waste. French Designer, Charles Viancin, has come up with a solution for the eco-friendly out there. With this innovative range of products you can say no to cling wrap!

Inspired by Nature, the range features various flower designs from daisies to hibiscus, and includes a gorgeous banana leaf inspired lid for larger, rectangular dishes. The range of lids are heat proof (both oven and microwave safe), so you can take it from the oven to the table and to the fridge with any leftovers you might have – there’s no need for aluminium foil or cling wrap with these handy lids!

Entertaining is a breeze with the range of bottle stoppers, drink covers and markers – they’re sure to jazz up any table setting and are perfect for barbecues and summer entertaining – and the range looks just as charming indoors on these cold winter nights – why not add a touch of colour to your next dinner party!

The range of silicone kitchenware products are BPA free and form a 100% airtight seal on any smooth, rimmed surface. They insulate both hot and cold foods, deter pests and preserve freshness too. The lids are also an environmentally friendly alternative to the 700 million meters of cling wrap thrown away in Australia each year.

These truly are a unique and innovative idea. I love the various designs available (shown above is the daisy cup cover and lilypad bowl/dish cover). Inspired by nature, Charles Viancin uses that raw beauty in all of his designs. They’re also non-toxic, durable, flexible, long-lasting and can withstand both hot and cold temperatures – did I mention these can also be used in the freezer too!

Available in a wide range of sizes and designs, they work effectively on different materials including stainless steel, glass, plastic, ceramic and wood. Different sizes are available to fit a range of dishes including pots, pans, casserole dishes, cans of pet food and all types of bowls.

I was gifted the range of products above in exchange for a review. I really enjoyed using the products and found them both functional and attractive – such clever kitchenware! I have used them on picnics in the park, entertaining friends at home, and taking dishes to friends places as well. Each time they continue to draw compliments from those who see them.

These can also be hung (as well as rolled up), so that’s a bonus for those who are short on storage space in their kitchen – they look rather pretty when hung (I have mine hanging on show with my pots and pans above the sink – no need for curtains there and lets the natural sunlight in too).

Overall I found the performance of these products to be exceptional – I have used the same products in the oven as well as in the fridge, freezer and microwave, and they continue to perform their job (as well as looking pretty laid out on the table). I love that these lids have reduced my need for using cling wrap,

Designed in France, Wild Oats Housewares has brought the range to Australia. Prices start from $4.95-$49.95

Couldn’t agree more Chandresh – the amount of time it takes to break down plastic and yet it’s something that is used widely in so many ways – it’s great to see companies taking this on board and coming up with better ways in order to help save our planet!
